In 2017 Kapan Mining and Processing Works, a part of Polymetal, mined 527 tons of ore and processed 530 thousand tons.
In Q4 2017 output totaled 140 thousand tons and processing – 141 thousand tons.
Mining grew by 33% YoY, and processing by 24%.
Gold contents in 1 processed ton of ore in Q4 2017 were 2.2 grams, up by 38% YoY, silver – 33 grams, up by 6%, copper – 0.34%, up by 57%, and zinc – 2.31%, up by 119%.
Gold extraction ratio was 79.8%, up by 5%, silver – 82.1%, up by 8%, copper – 93.6%, up by 7%, and zinc – 85.5% (flat).
Thus in Q4 2017 the company produced 6.9 thousand ounces of gold (28 thousand ounces in 2017), 0.1 million ounces of silver (0.5 million ounces), 0.4 thousand tons of copper (1.3 thousand tons) and 1.2 thousand tons of zinc (4.8 thousand tons).
