In 2017 Ukraine exported 37.409 million tons of iron ore raw materials and concentrate valued at $2.588 billion, down by 4.6%, but up by 41.6% YoY respectively.

According to the State Fiscal Service, iron ore share in the total export was 5.9%.

The largest importer of Ukrainian iron ore raw materials last year was China ($720.33 million, or 27.8%). It is followed by Slovakia ($312.19 million, 12.1%) and Austria ($292.03 million, 11.3%). Other countries imported $1.263 billion worth of iron ore raw materials (48.6%).

In December 2017 exports totaled 2.968 million tons valued at $210 million. China imported $57.05 million worth of raw materials, Slovakia – $27.188 million and Austria – $26.4 million. All the other countries imported $99.391 million worth of iron ore raw materials. (Ukrainian metal)
