In November 2017 ferrous metals throughput remain on the previous year level – 6.1 million tons. And in 11 months railroad transported 65.8 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 1.8% YoY.
According to Severstal, domestic demand in 2017 will grow by 7% YoY, to 40 million tons of steel. Growth of demand for metal in construction could reach 1.6%, in machine-building – 3.9% and car manufacture – 14%.
In 2018 ferrous metals transportation will see some growth on the basis of construction industry revival.
Ore throughput in November was 9.4 million tons, up by 4.4% YoY. And in January-November 100.7 million tons of ore were transported, up by 0.2% YoY.
In November local throughput increased by 10%, while exports fell by almost 20%. (Ukrainian metal)
