In January-October Russia imported 5.555 million tons of ferrous metals, up by 1.49-fold YoY.
Far foreign countries supplied 1.967 million tons, while CIS countries – 3.588 million tons, up from 1.296 and 2.438 million tons in 10 months of 2016 respectively.
Imports of ferrous metals not counting pig iron, ferroalloys, waste and scrap also grew – from 3.114 million tons to 4.709 million tons. CIS supplied 2.885 million tons (1.907 million tons a year ago) and far foreign countries – 1.824 million tons (1.207 million tons).
Steel pipes imports totaled 0.602 million tons, up from 0.375 million tons, with CIS share at 0.321 million tons (0.22 million tons) and far foreign countries at 0.282 million tons (0.154 million tons). (Ukrainian metal)
