Chelyabinsk Zinc Works has produced 27 kg of indium of the 6N purity grade and the main element contents of 99.9999%.
Earlier ChTsZ was able to produce indium of 5N (In>99.999%).
The company started obtaining indium from the rotary oxide in the 1940s. At first the metal was produced as concentrate or indium sponge. In 1955 the company produced the first 58 g of metallic indium.
“The world industry has high requirements to the quality of the material, especially such spheres as semi-conductors and LCD-screens”, ChTsZ CEO Pavel Izbrecht said. (Ukrainian metal)
