The European Commission intends to impose a fixed tariff for the import of hot-rolled coils from Ukraine, Brazil, Iran and Russia and will not calculate the minimal import price.

When the fixed duty, not dependent on current prices, is imposed, European manufacturers will be better protected than by the minimal import price or antidumping duty.

In July EC suggested the final antidumping tax of 5.3-33% for the four countries and a minimal price of imports.

Now from October 6, the fixed duty for Ukraine could be 60.5 euro per ton, for Brazil – 53.4-60.3 euro, for Iran – 58 euro, for Russia – 17.6-96.5 euro per ton. (Ukrainian metal)
