In January-September Ukraine produced 26.15 million tons of coal, down by 11.5% YoY.
According to the Ministry of energy and coal industry, coking coal output dropped by 22.9%, to 5.049 million tons, power-generating coal – by 8.3%, to 21.1 million tons.
In September coal output totaled 2.544 million tons, down by 27.6% YoY.
Coal enterprises controlled by the ministry in 9 months decreased output by 19.4%, to 3.549 million tons, including 659.8 thousand tons of coking coal, down by 46.1%, and 2.88 million tons of power-generating coal, down by 9.2%.
Donetsk region mines in January-September mined 8.7 million tons of coal, down by 24.6% YoY, Lugansk region – 1.57 million tons, down by 51.5%, Dniepropetrovsk – 14.65 million tons, up by 9.1%, Lviv – 1.13 million tons, down by 4.1%, and Volyn region mines – 84.1 thousand tons, down by 42.2%.
