The State Service on Subsoil Use intends in the short-term to settle the problem with Evraz Sukhaya Balka.
“The situation with the blocking of the operation resulted from the company previous allowances expiring in August 2016”, the service said.
In 1996 Evraz Sukhaya Balka obtained two allowances to mine for iron ore for 20 years, which expired in 2016. The new allowances can be given only when the law-enforcers complete the investigation of illegal mining when the company had no license. (Ukrainian metal)
