In January-August Azerbaijan produced 3934.5 kg of gold, up 3-fold YoY.
According to the State Statistics Committee, in August gold output totaled 329.5 kg.
In 2016 Azerbaijan obtained 1894.1 kg of gold, down by 15% YoY.
At present Azerbaijan mines gold and silver at two deposits – Kedabek and Gosha – within the production sharing agreement signed with Anglo Asian Mining Plc in 1997. The contract presupposes development of 6 deposits. This year they are to yield 400 tons of gold.
The first Kedabek gold was obtained in 2009, and silver – in 2010. Gosha mined its first gold in Q3 2013. (Ukrainian metal)
