Evraz NTMK is continuing construction of a ball-rolling mill. The rail-beam shop has started assembling the main equipment.
A furnace to heat billets before rolling, a rolling mill, a thermal treatment site and a shipping site will be prepared and assembled. The length of the line will be 300 meters. The new manufacture will create additional jobs.
With the mill put into operation Evraz NTMK will be able to produce 60-120 mm diameter balls of the fifth hardness group.
“The new mill will expand the range of the balls and strengthen our position in the sector. New products are an important direction of our operation. At present we are developing over 20 new rolled metal types”, Evraz NTMK and Evraz KGOK managing director Alexei Kushnarev said.
The capacity of the new manufacture is some 135 thousand tons of balls per year. Evraz investments into the project total 1 billion rubles. (Ukrainian metal)
