Zaporizhstal intends to continue the reconstruction works and produce 4 million tons of steel per year.
According to the company CEO Rostislav Shurma, in the past 5 years Zaporizhstal has invested some 6 billion UAH into modernization, which allowed it to settle important environment issues.
“We have almost completely renovated our blast furnace shop. 3 out of our 4 blast furnaces correspond to all the current standards. Investments into the furnace shop reached 3 billion UAH”, he said.
A lot has been invested into the sintering factory reconstruction: new purifying machinery has been constructed at sintering machines No. 2-5. Additional gas-purifying equipment will be assembled at the sintering machine No. 1 The project is expected to be complete by the end of the year. (Ukrainian metal)
