NGO Russian Railways (RZD) Logistics illegally shipped 76,300 tons of coal from the occupied areas in Donetsk region controlled by the self-proclaimed Donetsk People’s Republic (“DPR”) to Russia in May, according to Ukrainian NGO Sprotyv.info.
The plan of shipments was approved by the Economic Development Ministry of the Russian Federation. Out of the 76,300 tons of Ukrainian coal, 9,800 tons were produced by state-owned mines, 63,800 tons of coal were extracted by the so-called secondary market enterprises, and 2,700 tons were produced by Mine Zhdanivska PJSC.
The coal mined in the occupied Donbas was supplied to Novocherkassk hydroelectric station in the Russian city of Novocherkassk, Rostov region.
“The remuneration of the specially created, “DPR”-registered state enterprise Republican Center “Coal of Donbass” for such illegal actions amounted to RUB 7.2 million (about $121,000),” the NGO said. (UNIAN/Ukrainian metal)
