In January-March Kazakhstan mined 273.3 billion tenge ($879.627 million) worth of non-ferrous metals ores, up by 11% YoY.
In particular, Kazakhstan mined 31.1 million tons of copper ores, up by 42.2%, 1.7 million tons of copper-zinc ores (up by 7.2%), 2.1 million tons of chromium ores (up by 25.6%) and 1.6 million tons of bauxites (up by 0.1%).
Precious and non-ferrous metals output in January-April 2017 totaled 784.8 billion tenge ($2.526 billion), up by 19.8%.
Raw aluminum output increased by 1.8%, to 581.3 thousand tons, raw copper and copper alloys – by 4.4%, to 138.9 thousand tons, zinc – by 10.3%, to 119.2 thousand tons and lead – by 8.3%, to 48.8 thousand tons. Gold production increased by 24.2%, to 26.7 tons, silver dropped by 10.1%, to 357.3 tons.
Copper exports dropped by 6.2% in Q1, zinc – by 1.5%, lead – by 10.1%, while those of aluminum went up by 6%, and of titanium – by 25.9%. (Ukrainian metal)
