The Commercial Court of Donetsk region on February 6 declared one of the largest enterprises of the temporarily occupied Bakhmut – Non-Ferrous Metals Processing Works – bankrupt and launched liquidation procedures there.

The works was founded in 1954 as the state enterprise and was subordinate to the Ministry of Non-Ferrous Metallurgy of the USSR. It specialized in the manufacture of non-ferrous products – round (pipes, rods and wire) and flat (sheets, strips and belt) rolled metal of copper and other non-ferrous metals.

In 1994 it was privatized.

In December 2022, during the battle for Bakhmut, it was this works that the president Wolodymyr Zelenskiy visited to decorate the defenders of the town. Since March 2023, the works has been on the temporarily occupied territory. (Ukrainian metal)
