According to the ex-director of the PR department of Naftogaz Ukrainy Valentin Zemlyansky, imported coal will cover only half of what is needed to prepare for the next heating season.
It is expected that new contracts for the delivery of coal from SAR and Australia will be concluded, and the first batches will arrive in early May. He believes that Ukrainian seaports will transship 2-2.5 million tons of coal. This will result in the increase of tariffs.
At the same time, at present there is no electricity shortages in the country, as the operation of anthracite blocks of TPPs has been replaced with nuclear and hydropower generation. (Ukrainian metal)
