Moscow hosted a round table on metal market situation.

Among the presenters were Zhanna Pets, the ChTPZ information-analytical department director, Arthur Krasavin, Mechel-Service marketing department director, and Zhanna Raus, Dialvest development director.

In particular, Zhanna Pets reported on pipe market situation, noting that in 2017 it would decrease by 1% YoY, to 9.99 million tons. LDP segment will see a decrease of 8% YoY, to 2 million tons, while OCTG will grow by 2%, to 1.985 million tons, with arc-welded pipes up by 1%, to 4.216 million tons, and seamless pipes flat at 1.389 million tons.

Market participants are especially worried about large capacities of arc-welded small and medium diameter pipes, as they exceed the demand 3-fold. The same applies to the construction rebars market, according to Krasavin. (Ukrainian metal)
