In January Ukraine retained the last position in the top-10 world steel producers.
According to World Steel Association, in January Ukraine produced 2.103 million tons of steel, up by 8.5% YoY.
The first position is traditionally occupied by China (67.2 million tons, up by 7.4%), followed by Japan and India (9.002 and 8.4 million tons, up by 2.7% and by 12% respectively).
USA produced 6.874 million tons of steel, up by 6.5%, Russia – 6.183 million tons, up by 11.6%.
South Korea increased steel output by 3.2%, to 5.86 million tons, Germany – by 1.2%, to 3.649 million tons, Turkey – by 12.8%, to 2.93 million tons, and Brazil – by 14.4%, to 2.856 million tons.
In general world steel output in January increased by 7% YoY, to 136.514 million tons, with capacity of 68.51%.(Ukrainian metal)
