ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih has started the next stage of its project of continuous cast shop No. 2 construction.

The company invests $72.4 million into construction. The capacity of the new CCM will total 1.3 million tons per year.

The construction of the shop is a part of the steel-smelting complex modernization, which presupposes the complete switching to continuous casting.

“We’re planning to have completed all the preliminary work by September. When the CCM is put into operation we will be able to produce 130×130 and 150×150 steel billets”, the AMKR steel-smelting department director Alexander Zozulya said. (Ukrainian metal)
