In October Russia imported 24.4 thousand tons of corrosion-resistant flat rolled steel, valued at $49 million, up by 8% MoM and by 38% YoY.

600+ mm wide sheet accounts for around 90% of the imports. Nickel contents in steel don’t exceed 2.5%.

Some 28% of imports came from China. In October Chinese steel cost $1633 per ton.

Taiwan supplied 23% at $1673 per ton. South African Republic came third with 12% and $1918 per ton.

The main consumers are Moscow (46%), Samara (11%) and Sverdlovsk (9%) region companies. (Ukrainian metal)
