Ukraine sees the decrease in scrap procurement. In H1 scrap procurement dropped by 40% YoY. In January-June Ukraine procured 1590 thousand tons of scrap, down from 2393 thousand tons in H1 2015.

The main reason for the decrease is the low local prices. As of July 1, 1 ton of scrap FOB Black Sea cost $192. In August the price was $200, rising to $200.5 on August 25.

According to the State Fiscal Service, in H1 85% of all scrap procured was sold on the local market, with only 15% exported (233 thousand tons, down by 67% YoY). In July ferrous scrap was not exported at all. (Ukrainian metal)
