In January-June the United Mining and Chemical Company produced 137.12 thousand tons of ilmenite, up by 2% YoY.

According to the company CEO Alexander Gladushko, such a small increase can be explained by the crisis on the world market of titanium-containing raw materials.

“The demand for the raw materials in the world is still low, so we cannot increase output, even though our capacities allow us to double it”, he said.

UMCC also produced 24.04 thousand tons of rutile concentrate and 9.14 thousand tons of zirconium concentrate, down by 1.7% and 13.9% YoY respectively. Staurolite output increased by 172.7% YoY, to 7.91 thousand tons.

In H2 the company plans to produce 146.94 thousand tons of ilmenite concentrate, 32.45 thousand tons of rutile concentrate and 12.96 thousand tons of zirconium concentrate. (Ukrainian metal)
