Interpipe started importing hot-briquetted iron (HBI) from Russia.

“Because of the lack of scrap we had to import HBI from Russia. Our colleagues at Lebedinsky Mining and Processing Works are very happy and started producing more. We have never imported such quantities”, said the company corporative relationship director Dmitry Kisilevsky.

According to him, the company also pondered round billets imports.

“Oskol Iron and Steel Works is prepared to supply”, added Kisilevsky.

Last year Interpipe had to dismiss some 3 thousand employees due to Dneprostal idleness. (Ukrainian metal)
