Zaporozhye Ferroalloys Plant, Ukraine’s No 2 ferroalloy producer, will probably resume operation by March following a 2.5 month shutdown.
ZFP was forced to shut operation in early December 2012, citing high power prices. The company later asked Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych to intervene to make sure the company gets power price discount that had been earlier promised by the central government.
Mr. Oleh Bespalov, the governor of the Zaporozhye region, said ZFP would most likely resume operation by March. But he said it could do so even earlier if talks with National Commission for Power Regulation, a state power tariff regulating authority, and Anti-Monopoly Committee, were successful. (SteelGuru)
