According to Mr. Yuriy Ryzhkov, analyst of Astrum Investment Management, Ukrainian metallurgical companies will reduce steel output in February by 5% to 7% as compared with the previous month.
He said that “We expect that in February the situation of raw materials supply will improve. However, due to the less days number in this month steel output is to decrease by 5% to 7%.”
He also noticed that in January Ukrainian metallurgy was affected by hard weather conditions and the problems with raw materials. This spoiled the output increase of large enterprises.
As per report, in January Ukrainian steel output was 2.65 million tons, down by 0.8% of December 2009 but up by 25.9% of January 2009. (Minprom)
