Cargo railway transportation in Ukraine is on the brink of collapsing: there are no spare parts and cars and huge difficulties with fuel purchases.

Ukrzaliznytsia problems greatly affect metal and mining companies. Ukraine has the highest port fees in the world, railroad transportation tariffs are constantly growing, and the gas transportation fees are very high. Problems with raw materials delivery could stop the industry any minute.

At present most companies have to plan their output based not on the capacities but on the raw materials stocks.

Even the difficult 2014 wasn’t that critical, as the companies could rearrange logistics and find new ways to get raw materials and sell products. (Ukrainian metal)
