Ukraine: in 2015 metal output to fall
In 2015 Ukrainian metal companies are expected to produce 23.5 million tons of steel, down by 13% YoY, due to the military activity in Lugansk and Donetsk regions, infrastructure destruction and works halts.

In September Ukraine produced 1755 thousand tons of rolled metal, up by 2%, or by 34 thousand tons MoM.
In January-September Ukraine produced 17.09 million tons of steel, down by 20% YoY.
In August Ukraine produced 1721 thousand tons of rolled metal, up by 2% MoM, or by 33 thousand tons.
In January-August the volume of the industrial products in Donetsk region (without the antiterrorist operation zone) decreased by 45% YoY. In August output dropped by 4%. In particular, metal production decreased by 3.5%, that of coke – by 1.6%.
Metallurgprom forecasts the steel output on the level of 1.9 million tons in October. Rolled metal and pig iron manufacture are expected at 1.8 million tons and 1.9 million tons respectively.
For the first time since the beginning of 2014 Ukrainian metal sector has shown some rise. August results confirm the first half-year trend in output increase. In August Ukrainian companies produced 9% more steel, than a year ago.
In January-August Ukrainian metal companies produced 15.04 million tons of steel, down by 24% YoY.
