Metal companies in Ukraine will boost steel smelting by 15.8% in June compared to expected production in May, to 2.2 million tons, and steel roll production will grow by 12.5%, to 1.8 million tons.
In January-April Ukrainian companies produced 7.08 million tons of carbon steel, down by 29.7% YoY.
In March Ukraine produced 1434 thousand tons of rolled metal, up by 6.9%, or by 93 thousand tons, MoM.
In the first quarter of 2015 Ukrainian companies produced 5.15 million tons of carbon steel, down by 31.4% YoY.
In February Ukraine produced 1341 thousand tons of rolled metal, down by 21.9%, or by 376 thousand tons, MoM.
Experts expect steel output in April on the level of 1.6 million tons, with 1.5 million tons both of pig iron and rolled metal.
Steel production in Ukraine, hit by a separatist conflict in the East, fell by 29%, to 3.46 million tons in the first two months of 2015 compared with the same period last year.
