The Ukrainian industrial company Interpipe has been working on diversifying its product portfolio and the geography of sales markets for more than ten years, focusing on strategic areas – Europe, North America and the Middle East. At the same time, the European market for the company currently remains a development market. This was announced by the company’s GR-director Natalia Sydoruk during the NV Business and European Integration event.
According to her, the European market is very capacious and contains many niches with various customer requests. That is why, in order to meet the requirements of European consumers, the company has mastered over 200 new types of pipe products in recent years.
An additional advantage of the company in Europe is the Interpipe Steel electrometallurgical plant, built “from scratch”. The enterprise complies with the philosophy of the European Green Deal. According to the company, investments in this project amounted to $1 billion and are aimed at decarbonizing steel production. This allows it to offer products made of “green” steel, which is no longer a wish, but a requirement of consumers in Europe.
At the same time, the company faces both new opportunities and challenges on the European market.
“Currently, the company faces many challenges and opportunities on the European market. This is due to the fact that Brussels has recently been producing a lot of regulatory acts that radically change the “rules of the game” in the industrial sector of Europe. For Ukrainian business, it is important not only to monitor all these changes, but also to have a clear and professional dialogue with European institutions with the participation of the Ukrainian government in order to convey the specifics of Ukrainian business,” Sydoruk noted.
