In January-June, the metallurgical industry produced goods worth almost 77 trillion soums with annual growth of 8%, the Statistics Agency reported.
Meanwhile, supplies of metal products increased by almost 4%.
In the first half of the year, Uzbekistan exported non-ferrous metals worth $688.2 million, down by 3.8%. Exports of pig iron and steel decreased by 14.5%, to $103.6 million.
When it comes to imports, figures for iron and steel were $1.2 billion, with annual growth of 12.8%. The purchase of non-ferrous metals grew by 18.7%, to $171.8 million. (Uzreport)
