The depth of the quarry at the Muruntau gold mine has reached 650 meters.
The next stage will see the depth exceeding 1 thousand meters and yielding over 50 million tons of ore per year.
This is the largest gold deposit with the reserves estimated at more than 4.5 thousand tons.
At present the quarry has the length of 5.5 km, width of 3.4 km and depth of 650 meters.
So far, more than 2.2 billion cubic meters of rock has been excavated. In 2023, excavation works amounted to 110.6 million cubic meters, up by 78% from 2018. (Ukrainian metal)
