During the official visit of the Uzbekistan president to Germany, an agreement with KfW-IPEX Bank was signed to construct a new copper-smelting complex worth $2.55 billion.

The construction is being carried out under an investment project “Developing the Yoshlik I deposit” according to the decree of the president “On additional measures to expand the manufacture of non-ferrous and precious metals on the basis of the Almalyk Mining and Processing Works’ deposits” dated May 26, 2020.

The new metallurgical complex will allow increasing copper, gold and silver output almost 2-fold. (Ukrainian metal)
