According to the World Gold Council, the world’s central banks increased their gold reserves by 50 tons in November 2022. The largest buyer of the month was the People’s Bank of China, which bought 32 tons of gold, followed by the Central Bank of Turkey with 19 tons.

Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan became the main sellers of gold. While the former exported 4 tons, the latter sold 2 tons. At the beginning of December 2022, the volume of the gold reserve of the Uzbek Central Bank accounted for 397 tons and the Kazakh National Bank – 380 tons.

Uzbekistan exported gold worth $3.52 billion in January-November 2022, down by 14% YoY. The share of gold in the volume of exports fell from 26.5% to 20%. (Uzreport/Ukrainian metal)
