In January-July, Kazakhstan extracted 62.8 million tons of coal, down by 0.5% YoY.

Pavlodar region produced 37.2 million tons, down by 2.3%, Karaganda – 21.1 million tons and East-Kazakhstan region – 4.2 million toms.

Kazakhstan exported 16 million tons of coal valued at $254.9 million, up by 29.2% and by 31.9% YoY respectively.

Exports to CIS grew by 5%, to 12.8 million tons. In particular, Russia bought 10.5 million tons, down by 4.3%, Belarus – 1.2 million tons and Ukraine – 491.7 thousand tons.

Other countries imported 3.2 million tons of coal valued at $45.2 million. With Switzerland purchasing 2.7 million tons, UK – 191.8 thousand tons and Turkey – 150.6 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
