In January-June, Ukraine exported 9.86 million tons of ferrous metals valued at $6.11 billion, up by 6.1% and by 56.7% YoY respectively.

The export of scrap totaled 230.9 thousand tons (up considerably), pig iron – 1478.6 thousand tons (+0.6%) and semi-finished products – 3636.8 thousand tons (-0.2%).

Semis accounted for 36.9% of exports, raw materials – for 20.6% and rolled metal – for 42.5%.

EU-28 accounted for 31% of exports, Africa – 13%, Europe – 14.5%, CIS – 6.5% and the Near East – 12%.

Ferrous metals imports decreased by 9.7%, to 504.2 thousand tons, while of scrap grew by 36.6%, to 12.6 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
