In 2020, Ukrainian seaports transported 15.78 million tons of metal products in 2020, up by 8% YoY. Exports increased by 8%, to 15.32 million tons, and transit – by 11.9%, to 421.2 thousand tons.

The main shipper was Metinvest – 10.68 million tons, up by 12.1%. Most of Metinvest metal (40.7%) is shipped via the Mariupol Trade Seaport. The main customers were Italy (2.2 million tons), Turkey (1.74 million tons) and USA (1.64 million tons).

ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih exported 4.2 million tons, up by 9.4%. Most of metal was shipped via the Novolog, Novoteh and Nikmet terminals in Odessa. China increased purchases 14-fold, to 680.6 thousand tons, Turkey imported 487.8 thousand tons and Saudi Arabia – 375.4 thousand tons.

Moldova Iron and Steel Works increased transit via Ukrainian seaports 14.5-fold, to 10.6 thousand tons. MMZ ships its metal via Novoteh, UNSC, Metalsukraine and Novolog in Odessa. (Ukrainian metal)
