Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works has just finished one of the largest environment projects in the history of the independent Ukraine – the reconstruction of the sintering factory with investments at the level of over $160 million.
The reconstruction lasted for more than 7 years.
The Mariupol Ilyich sinter factory is one of the largest in Europe. Its maximum output is over 13 million tons of sinter per year.
The factory used to account for 80% of all the company pollution and 40% of dust emission in Mariupol. (Ukrainian metal)
