In 2019 transportation of metal and mining products via roads decreased.
In particular, transportation of iron ore dropped by 41%, to 1.15 million tons, and metals – by 9.7%, to 3.2 million tons (including 533.7 thousand tons abroad).
According to the State Statistics Service, automobile transportation of iron, pig iron, steel and ferroalloys went down by 4.1%, to 825.5 thousand tons, non-ferrous metals and wares – by 26.5%, to 260.2 thousand tons, pipes, tubes, hollow sections and fittings – by 5.4%, to 857.5 thousand tons, and structures and construction wares – by 13.8%, to 1.14 million tons.
Only transportation of boilers, small metal wares and ready-made metal wares grew by 13%, to 123.8 thousand tons. (Ukrainian metal)
