In March ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih will shut down its two-bath steel-smelting machine No. 6.

This will mean the shut down of the open-hearth shop.

The premises will be used as a refractory materials warehouse.

Since the open-hearth furnace No. 4 was shut down and disassembled in 2011, AMKR has been utilizing only the machine No. 6.

After the shut down of the shop, steel will only be manufactured in the converter shop and the output would remain at the level of 5.5 million tons per year. (Ukrainian metal)
