This year Ukraine will fire 28 thousand miners working at state enterprises.
“I want to warn Ukrainian miners and trade unions. According to my information, this year some 28 thousand state miners will be fired. This will affect 100 thousand people in related industries”, the head of the Radical Party Oleg Lyashko has declared.
The Ministry of Energy and Environment Protection confirmed the plans to shut down state mines, but noted that it would not happen in the near future.
In 2019 state mines decreased coal output by 24% YoY. (Ukrainian metal)
