In 2019 Metinvest spent around the same amount of money on investments as in 2018.
Last year it was able to finish all the scheduled key projects – modernization of the blast furnace No. 3 at Azovstal and the mill-1700 at Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works.
“We are also going forward with our environment projects, the main being the reconstruction of gas-purifying equipment at Mariupol Ilyich sintering factory. We will replace around 70% of filters”, Metinvest CEO Yuri Ryzhenkov declared.
The group has also started constructing an air-separation machine at Mariupol Ilyich.
New projects in 2020 will depend on the market situation.
“If it favors increasing the investment program, we will add more projects. We intend to construct an air-separator and modernize blast furnace No. 6 at Azovstal, as well as cold-rolling mill at Mariupol Ilyich”, he added. (Ukrainian metal)
