Starting from 2020 Mauro Longobardo will become the new CEO of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih, he has previously chaired ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Jubail.
Paramjit Kahlon, current CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS, will work until the end of 2019, and then he will leave the Group. The corporation thanked Mr. Kahlon for his contribution to the development of the company over the past 11 years of work, and wished him further success in his career. In his presence, there was a significant expansion of the investment program of Ukrainian plant, a number of key projects were implemented, without which it was no longer possible to imagine mining and metallurgical integrated plant in Kriviy Rih. These are PCI installation for BF-9, BF-6 modernization, upgraded complex of COBs Nos. 5 and 6, CCMs constructed from scratch, technical re-equipment of Underground Mines, reconstruction of LSM 250-4 and many other projects. Exactly with the active participation of Mr. Kahlon the pace of production modernization significantly accelerated, and the volume of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih CAPEX and OPEX increased.
In his speech addressed to the employees of the plant, Kahlon noted: “It was an honor for me to be your leader as CEO of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih for more than five years and CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS for almost 4 years”.
Kahlon introduced to the employees his successor, Vijay Goyal, Vice-President of the corporation who will hold a post of CEO of ArcelorMittal CIS (Kazakhstan and Ukraine). Vijay is a very experienced professional who has worked for more than 20 years in various positions in the group. In 2019 he was engaged in strategic projects of the corporation.
Mauro Longobardo, who will be officially appointed as CEO of ArcelorMittal Kriviy Rih from January 1, 2020, will report to Vijay Goyal.
Mauro Longobardo has a long employment sheet. In particular, from 2002 to 2006 he worked for Tenaris (Italy) in the area of quality, technology and product development. He then moved to Argentina, where he oversaw different manufacturing sites at the local plant. In 2010 he was transferred to Dubai, to the position of Worldwide Coordination Director for OCTG. He also worked as Commercial Director and Regional Manager for some prospective countries in the Middle East (Iraq, Qatar, Oman, Yemen, Pakistan, Syria, Lebanon and Jordan). From 2013 to 2015 Mauro joined Chelpipe as deputy CEO for strategy, technology and development in the Russian Federation. After that he joined Interpipe, becoming Chief Operating Officer, based in Ukraine. Mauro Longobardo joined the group in February 2018, as Chief Executive Officer of ArcelorMittal Tubular Products Jubail.
Longobardo graduated in Materials Engineering from the Polytechnic University of Milan, Italy. He holds the ACE from MIT Sloan School (Boston).
