Severstal Russian Steel has chosen a supplier of the main machinery for the modernization of the steel degassing machine at Cherepovets iron and Steel Works.
Danieli & C. Officine Meccaniche S.p.A. will supply the machinery.
The first deliveries are expected until the end of 2020.
The commission of the modernized machine is scheduled for Q2 2021.
At present the capacity of the two-unit degasser is 1.5 million tons per year, which does not cover the market needs. After modernization the machine will be able to produce up to 2.024 million tons of degassed metal. (Ukrainian metal)
