In 2019 steel consumption in Russia will grow by 7.6% YoY, to 42.5 million tons.

According to the Chermet Corporation Vice-President Yuri Mishin, there was no growth in consumption last year, it even decreased by 1.7%, to 39.5 million tons.

In H1 2019 steel exports dropped by 9.7%, or by 1.5 million tons. Imports decreased by 1%.

In January-September rolled metal manufacture in Russia decreased by 1.2% YoY, with semi-finished products falling the most, by 12.8%, while sections output grew the most – by 6.8%. (Ukrainian metal)
