The Ministry of economy, trade and agriculture development expects steel output in 2019 to grow by 4% YoY, to 21.927 million tons.
The ministry believes that rolled metal manufacture will increase by 3%, to 18.842 million tons, and pig iron – by 1%, to 20.69 million tons.
The forecast is based on the output in January-September.
At the same time scrap metal deliveries to domestic companies will drop by 6%, to 3.128 million tons, and coke output – by 5%, to 10.305 million tons.
Pipes manufacture will go up by 5%, to 1.079 million tons, while metal wares will remain unchanged at 186 thousand tons.
Mining companies will increase iron ore output by 4%, to 75.899 million tons, concentrate – by 5%, to 63.273 million tons, pellets – by 1%, to 21.676 million tons and retain sinter output at 31.7 million tons. (Ukrainian metal)
