In January-August Ukraine mined 20.293 million tons of coal, down by 8% YoY.
In particular, extraction of coking coal dropped by 3.2%, to 3.939 million tons, and power-generating coal – by 9.1%, to 16.353 million tons.
In August coal output decreased by 17.2%, to 2.422 million tons.
Enterprises subordinate to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry in 8 months mined 2.384 million tons of coal, down by 15.4%, including 560.9 thousand tons of coking coal, up 1.8-fold, and 1.823 million tons of power-generating coal, down by 27.3%.
Mines of Donetsk region in January-August extracted 7.047 million tons of coal, down by 6% YoY, Lugansk region – 245.7 thousand tons, down by 31.6%, Dniepropetrovsk – 12.078 million tons, down by 7.4%, Lviv – 873.1 thousand tons, down by 19.7%, and Volyn region mines – 48.6 thousand tons, down by 34.2%.
