Mariupol Ilyich Iron and Steel Works within a major investment reconstruction project is modernizing its wide-strip mill in the sheet-rolling shop 1700.

The company has received the last batch of equipment with the combined weight of over 900 tons.

Investments in the project total $85 million.

The first stage of the shop reconstruction was completed in 2018 and included the commissioning of the heating furnace No. 1 and the pneumatic coiler. The company started producing hot-rolled coils with the weight of up to 16.5 tons.

New machinery will allow producing coils with the weight of up to 30 tons. (Ukrainian metal)
