Russia: VMZ to get new Danieli machinery

Vyksa Iron and Steel Works will assemble a new seamless pipes producing machine.

The machinery will be supplied by Danieli.

The design capacity of the machinery is 0.5 million tons of pipes per year.

Ukraine: scrap imports up in January 2019

In January Ukraine increased scrap imports by 40.5% YoY, to 3.846 thousand tons.

The cost of scrap imported dropped by 19.7%, to $2.417 million.

The main suppliers of scrap were Turkey (54.7%), Russia (34.8%) and South Korea (8.36%). (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: scrap exports down in January 2019

In January Ukraine exported 3.14 thousand tons of scrap, down 10.8-fold YoY.

According to the State Fiscal Service, the value of the scrap exported dropped 10.6-fold, to $936 thousand.

In December 2018 Ukraine exported 7.488 thousand tons of scrap.

The main customers were Turkey (75.61%), the Netherlands (16.9%) and Germany (3.74%). (Ukrainian metal)

Ukraine: UGOK concentrate output up in January 2019

In January Yuzhniy Mining and Processing Works increased concentrate output by 4.6% YoY, to 1.102 million tons. Ukraine: ferrous metals imports down in January 2019

In January Ukraine imported $80.345 million worth of ferrous metals, down by 9.2% YoY.

According to the State Fiscal Service, in December 2018 imports stood at $101.118 million.

The import of metal wares in January grew by 5.3%, to $63.229 million.
