Technoinvest Alliance has once again postponed the terms of launching the mining and processing works on the basis of the largest rare-earth metals deposit in Russia (Zashikhinskoye) – this time to late 2023.

The terms have been postponed since 2014.

Initially it was intended to start the construction of the works with the capacity of 1 million tons of ore per year in 2016 and finish in 2018.

The construction of the works will help cover 100% of the Russian need in tantalum raw materials and a considerable part of niobium.

The reserves of the Zashikhinskoye deposit in Irkutsk region are estimated at 33.5 million tons of ore with high contents of niobium and tantalum. (Ukrainian metal)
