In January-October Ukraine decreased ferrous metals scrap exports by 18.5% YoY, to 316.196 thousand tons, valued at $102.5 million, up by 11.3%.
According to the customs statistics, presented by the State Fiscal Service, in October Ukraine exported 8.274 thousand tons of scrap, in September – 7.59 thousand tons, in August – 19.05 thousand tons, in July – 10.939 thousand tons, in June – 19.359 thousand tons, in May – 34.537 thousand tons, in April – 76.331 thousand tons, in March – 53.668 thousand tons, in February – 52.634 thousand tons and in January – 33.814 thousand tons.
At the same time in 10 months scrap imports increased by 58.8% YoY, to 31.279 thousand tons, valued at $28.975 million, up by 47.3%.
The main suppliers of scrap were Turkey (72.77%), South Korea (9.06%) and Russia (7.41%), while the main purchasers were Moldova (64.36%), Turkey (33.57%) and the Netherlands (1.25%).
Moreover, Ukraine imported 1.539 thousand tons of hot-briquetted iron valued at $509 thousand from Russia. (Ukrainian metal)
