The net profit of the Russian steelmaker Severstal surged by 86% YoY, to $1.473 billion in January-September, as calculated under International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), the company said in a statement on October 19.

Revenue went up by 14.6%, to $6.495 billion in the period due to favorable prices of steel on the global market and due to a 4% YoY increase in steel sales.

EBITDA grew by 28.8%, to $2.348 billion. (Prime/Ukrainian metal)
